2026 ARTWORK
This year, Heather has found her rhythm with textures and layers. Working with unusual tools, she covers, reveals and develops complex yet simply structured pieces that call to the viewer’s heart and soul.
Stay tuned for what’s emerging.
"Monstera Deliciosa I" 18x24”. 2026. (Where Light Breaks Through). Acrylic on canvas. For Sale. A study in contrast and control. These forms do not simply open. They decide. Light meets edge, resistance, then slips through only where it’s allowed. Each split feels deliberate. Each opening earned. This piece holds a quiet authority… the kind that comes from knowing where to yield, and where to remain whole. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**
"Monstera Deliciosa II" 18x24". 2026. (Gathering Form). Acrylic on Canvas. For Sale. Closer. Denser. Becoming. Layers fold into one another as shapes begin to organize and echo. What once felt diffuse now gathers into structure. There is a quiet coherence here… a sense of something forming from within. Not fully revealed, but undeniable in its direction. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**
"What Takes Shape." 24x36.” 2026. Acrylic and pastel on canvas. For Sale. A form gathers out of movement. Layers settle, edges appear, and something previously unseen becomes tangible. This piece explores the moment when energy condenses into presence, when the invisible begins to declare itself. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**
"What Moves Through." 25x36.” 2026. Acrylic and pastel on canvas. For Sale. Not all forces arrive to stay. Some currents pass through quietly, altering what they touch before continuing on. This work holds the sensation of motion within stillness, the trace of something felt more than seen. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**
"Edge of Water" 12x12". 2026. #1 of 3 x 12x12”. Acrylic and pastel on canvas. For Sale. A hush lives in these paintings. Mist rising from dark water, thin trees holding their places in soft light, the land slowly revealing itself through layers of atmosphere. Each piece is a moment within the same landscape… the place where water gathers, where the forest stands close, and where the air begins to open again. Together they trace a gentle passage through that space, from the water’s edge, through the trees, into a clearing where the light returns. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**
"Between Trees" 12x12". 2026. #2 of 3 x 12x12”. Acrylic and pastel on canvas. For Sale. A hush lives in these paintings. NOT FOR SALE. "Rising." (1st of the Rising & Returning Diptych.) 16x16”. Acrylic on Canvas. On display at TGO Quatsino Lodge, Vancouver Island. Two creatures move through a shared field of red. They are not identical, though they belong to the same origin. One gathers itself and lifts. The other curves back toward what it knows. Rising carries the impulse of emergence. The moment before motion becomes visible. The upward arc, the breath drawn in, the instinct to move toward light or possibility without certainty of what waits there. Returning holds the wisdom of the cycle. The path that bends back, not as retreat, but as completion. The breath released. The recognition that movement outward and movement home are part of the same living rhythm. Together they form a continuous loop. Departure and homecoming. Expansion and integration. The creatures become symbols of how life moves through us, again and again, shaping experience into memory, and memory back into motion. There is no fixed beginning. Only the ongoing conversation between what rises and what returns.

“Where Light Decides to Stay” 36 x 36". 2026. Acrylic on Canvas. For Sale. (on display at "Design Bright" in High River.) There are moments when light does not arrive suddenly. It settles. It finds a place to rest. It gathers quietly. It stays. This painting holds that moment. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**
“Listening for Morning”. 36 x 36”. 2026. Acrylic on Canvas. For Sale. (on display at "Design Bright" in High River) Some mornings do not announce themselves. They unfold slowly. This painting lives in that space. Before certainty. Before brightness. Before the world asks anything of you. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**
“Between Weather and Will”. 20x20”. 2026. Acrylic and pastel on canvas. For Sale. Between Weather and Will lives in the tension between what changes around us and what stays steady within us. The misty field holds uncertainty—weather, season, the unknown—while the deeper vertical forms stand for choice: the quiet decisions that keep us upright. It’s a reminder that we don’t need perfect visibility to move forward—only a true next step. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**
NOT FOR SALE. "A Gentle Horizon." 36x48”. 2026. Acrylic on canvas. Donated and on display at the Foothills Country Hospice. “A Gentle Horizon” was made as a place to rest your eyes. Not to ask anything of you—only to offer a steady line to return to. The horizon doesn’t hurry. It doesn’t explain. It simply stays. A quiet edge between what has been and what is still arriving. Layer by layer, the sky holds softness, weather, and light—small shifts you can feel more than name. When everything feels like a lot, this piece is meant to be one gentle thing: a breath you can see, a calm place to land.
