2025 ARTWORK
This year, Heather returned to the studio with fresh energy. By showing up every day, following intuition, and sharpening her focus, she’s quietly building a new nature‑themed collection, piece by layered piece.
Stay tuned for what’s emerging.

"Wow Factor". 2025. 12"x12". Acrylic and Mixed Media on Canvas . For Sale. The night she finally trusted her instincts, the city felt like a canyon of colour. She walked beneath towering shadows—inky blues and midnight purples—while a pulse of fuchsia hummed like a secret she was ready to say out loud. Rain slid down glass in long, vertical rivers; the world blurred, then clarified, then blurred again. In that soft confusion, she began to notice the quiet circles that kept returning to her life: a coffee ring on a beloved sketchbook, the moon caught in a window, the breath that steadied her hand. She started the painting the same way she walked that night, intuitively, without a map. Layers went down like weather: a wash of storm, a veil of mist, a decisive dark. Scribbles threaded through the composition like conversations she’d been having with herself for years. Then, almost mischievously, she placed the pale ovals (portals, bubbles, small thresholds of light) drifting upward as if buoyed by their own belief. “Wow Factor” is the moment before a leap, when the room tilts and colour takes the lead. It’s the courage to follow a bright signal through the deep, to let wonder interrupt the script, and to surface with something luminous cupped in both hands. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**

Lose yourself in a mystical twilight where violet hues and soft light blend like shifting tides beneath a cosmic sky. This piece from my “Celestial Tides” series explores the boundary between waking and dreaming, inviting you to wander through layers of color and intuition. These pieces evoke the sense of drifting through a waking dream, where the boundaries between water, sky, and spirit dissolve. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**

“Hey, Dragon!” 2025. 11 x 14” Acrylic and mixed media on canvas. For Sale. She didn’t wait for shiny armour or perfect timing. In a dress made of nothing but courage and paper, she followed the scorched footprints to the edge of the world and knocked on the cave with her knuckles. “Hey, Dragon!” she called, voice bright as flint. Out rushed heat and thunder—smoke swirling gold, sparks skipping like fireflies—until his terrible roar emptied into a wheeze. When the bragging was burned out and the air went quiet, she smiled—clever, unruffled—and the whole sky seemed to soften from blue to honey. This painting catches that exact breath between fear and wit, when a girl outsmarts a legend and discovers her truest armour has always been her own bright, blazing self. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**

SOLD "Hey, Honey Bear". 2025. 11x14". Acrylic and mixed media. He shows up every spring, ambling out of the trees with the patience of old mountains and the curiosity of a child. She watches him pause at the edge of the clearing, all soft blues and mossy golds, as if the forest has lent him its colors for the season. The air is sweet with thaw and sap; orange blossoms of pollen ride the breeze like small promises. In the studio she paints him from memory, not as a portrait but as a feeling—gentle heft, sleepy grace, the way light freckles his fur like honey spatter. Lines loosen, edges blur, and the bear becomes a guardian of tender things: new mornings, first blooms, the soft permission to move slowly and be held by the world.

“Instincts.” 2025. 16 x16”. Acrylic and mixed media on canvas. For Sale. "Shore Line Memories". 2025. 16”x 20”. Acrylic and mixed media on canvas. For Sale. The tide was out, but the day still moved like water. She walked the familiar edge where land loosens its grip—rocks slick with memory, salt breath on the wind, gulls cutting paper-thin paths through the sky. Every step pulled up a fragment: the clink of beach glass in a pocket, a childhood pier painted the colour of storm, a yellow slicker flashing like laughter against the grey. Back in the studio, she worked like the shoreline itself—advancing, receding, revealing. Slate blues and deep-sea greys set the weather; whites dragged across the surface like foam rinsing stone. She pressed in small windows of teal, as if peering down into tide pools, then let warm ochre slip through in quick, bright strokes—the sudden joy of sun between clouds, the stripe of a boat, the gold of seaweed braided to a mooring rope. Forms gathered the way stories do when told out of order: a shard here, a bar of colour there, a scatter of dots like rain beginning. What held them wasn’t chronology but tide—an intuitive rhythm of pull and return. In the end, the painting felt like standing at that threshold again, where everything you’ve loved about the water is present at once: the hush, the grit, the shine, the way the horizon keeps its promises without ever saying a word. **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**

Hints of gold and teal emerge through veils of blue and white, like distant lights breaking through fog. “Signals in the Mist” is a meditation on clarity and intuition, inviting you to notice the subtle cues and hidden messages that guide you through uncertainty. "Signals in the Mist". 20 x 20". 2025. Acrylic and mixed media on canvas. For Sale. Technique/Elements — Acrylic and mixed media on canvas with layered gel textures for dimensional depth. Cool underpainting in slate, indigo, and teal, with whites to create a misty veil. Palette-knife pulls, edge scraping, and subtle stencil impressions suggest fractured structures. Diagonal, dry-brushed passes imply wind/fog drift; softened drips for gentle movement. Restrained blue‑grey palette punctuated by muted ochre “signals” for warm–cool contrast and focal points **The Link above will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**

“Gate 9B.” 2025. 8x8”. Acrylic and mixed media on canvas. For Sale. She was early for the flight and wandered the concourse, watching light skate across polished floors like a tide on rock. At Gate 9B, the world felt between places—sky-colored blues, weathered greys, the mustard stripe of a suitcase that had seen better maps. She took out her sketchbook and followed the angles: wing, shoreline, road. Lines crossed like decisions; paint caught like breath. . Back in the studio, those fragments returned as texture and tilt—scraped horizons, quick black slashes, a bright ochre path curving forward. 9B still hovered in the corner like a small permission slip. Not a destination, but a threshold—the exact moment you stop waiting and step into the next story. **The Link below will take you to our sales page at BirdsongStudios.ca**
